How I Lost 20 Kilos On This ProgrammeWhy did I decided to go on a diet? I guess there are multiple reasons for that: - I am well into my thirties - I gave-up smoking a couple of years ago and as a result, I put on more than 20 kilos... This was very new for me as I had always been thin. My suits hardly fitted me any more and when I played football I was getting so slow that I had to make horrible tackles to prevent the players form the opposite team to score.... Well, this had to change! I tried “homemade” diets a few times (e.g.the “don’t eat anything” kind of diets) but the weight I managed to lose each time went back on in no time... I even considered liposuction, but then I saw how they do it on a video and errrm....no way! I wanted to lose these 20kilos in four months so I really had to find a solution. I used to walk past the National Nutrition Clinic in Richmond every day and finally decided to pop in to get some information. The program they are offering was attractive, so I decided to give it a try. I filled in a questionnaire which was reviewed by Cheryl, my nutritional therapist, during our first appointment. She also ran food intolerance tests and explained how the programme would work. We defined the targets together and, to my surprise, I learned that I did not have to feel starvation to lose weight. Cheryl created recipes that fitted my taste, so really I did not feel like I was on diet. We had meetings every two weeks to adjust the diet and review the targets. After four months, I have actually managed to get where I wanted to be. Today I weigh 78 kilos, my waist has gone from 101cm to 90.5cm and my body fat from 24% to 18.5% so job done!
