Daily Express Seeks Our Help

When Express journalist Penny Stretton wanted validation of how healthy the Chinese meals were that she was cooking up with celebrity chef Brendan Speed, it was National Nutrition Clinic that she turned to for help.

Our Director of Nutrition, Cheryl Wilson, looked at the recipes and the way they were cooked and gave the following advice on their chicken chow mein:

"With a sensible portion of chicken and using a low GI sweetener instead of sugar, this could be a perfectly balanced meal. Serve it with steamed basmati rice instead of egg fried rice - remember the rice portion should take up no more than a quarter of your plate".
